8 Fall and Winter Lip Colors (drugstore)

So I have collected a few (a lot) of berry, wine, and purple lipsticks that are great to wear during the fall and winter. I really like wearing a dark lipstick, minimal eyes, and thick defined brows during the colder seasons. I have swatched my collection on my arm and lips. Some of the lipsticks do look very similar when photographed but in person the difference is less subtle. Also all of the lipssticks are drugstore!

Revlon Brow Fantasy Review (rave)

I pretty much use all types of makeup products and it wasn't until a few months ago that I started to fill in my brows. For a while I tried different shadows but they were too light or some shadows were too dark. Everything made my brows just look fake and too thick. I tried pencils but I couldn't get light enough strokes for it to look seamless. However my sister purchased the Revlon Brow Fantasy pencil/gel duo but never really used it. She left it at home when she went off to collage and I tried it out.  And to my surprise it was a really good and so easy to use.

Easy Eyes With Maybelline Color Tattoos

School has started I no longer have 30 minutes to leisurely my makeup anymore. I know, sad faces all around. Taking my time, and doing my makeup is so relaxing for me. Just to sit down at my desk, pay attention to my face, and apply products is very cathartic. But, when I am rushing to get to school I need quick makeup fixes to get me out of the door. So here is my quick and easy eye look, it should take you just a few minutes to do, and the best part NO brushes needed!

If All Of My Makeup Disappeared (tag)

As you can tell by the title, this tag is about what ten items would you repurchase if all of your makeup disappeared. I know scary, if all of my makeup did actually disappear I would die. I think that this tag is really informative and interesting. Because it shows what products are the holy grails and best products ever in someones collection. I have picked out 10 items and one extra so I cheated a little bit.

Face Products

Covergirl Clean Oil Control Pressed Powder
I have combination skin, and a setting powder is necessary for me. This powder controls my oil, and doesn't cling to my dry skin areas. It really does absorb oil, so it is a great blotting powder also.

Physicians Strength Rx Concealer
This is a full coverage concealer, it so creamy and thick. A little goes a long way this can easily double up as foundation if I need it to. This works great over blemishes and under the eyes. Just a really great product at the drugstore.

NYX Dusty Rose Blush
This blush is so smooth, and applies like a dream. The color blends into my skin easily, looks very natural but gives my face a nice flush. It is matte, and so pigmented you just need to tap your brush in the pan and dust on to the apples of your cheeks. The color is my natural cheek flush, just a little bit more intense

Eye Products

Maybelline Color Tattoo Bad To The Bronze
This is a great all over the lid color, it is long lasting and mulit-dimensional. I just swipe this on to my lid, with my finger and blend out in the crease.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Barely Branded
Same deal as Bad To The Bronze, just so easy to use. This is even more natural than Bad To The Bronze, peachy golden nude shadow base that looks great all over the lid by itself or blended with Bad To The Bronze.

Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara
I currently have this in brown (by mistake wasn't paying attention in the drugstore). I would repurchase this in black, thought I do like the brown fomula. This mascara separates my lashes, makes them longer and fabulous. It never flakes on me by the end of the day, I hate little black flecks under my eyes and this doesn't do that. I love the dry but kind of wet formula, it works great on the bottom lashes. This is a fantastic mascara.

Wet N Wild Walking On Egg Shells Trio
This palette lets me create the perfect neutral eye. The shadows are smooth, creamy, and pigminted. These shadows work great on their own, and look even better on top of my color tattoes. I love using the brown shade as a liner it is so pretty in the crease. I love this little palette.

Urban Decay Primer Potion in Eden
I have oily eyelids, I need a primer even if I use an eyeshadow base. This is my most necessary product for long lasting eye shadows looks. I like the eden formula the best, because it evens out the color of my lids. Enough said

Rimmel Scandaleyes Khol Kajal in Nude
This is a nude waterproof liner. I put this in my waterline to widen my eyes and make me look more awake. If i'm not going to wear any a lot makeup I will put this on and mascara and head out of the door. The liner is creamy and does the job.

Jordana FabuLiner Brown
Great every day liquid liner. So easy to great a thin smooth line. Lasts forever, never flake, and it is just a quality product. I also have this in black but I like the brown formula better.

BONUS Product

Maybelline Baby Lips Grape Vine
You always need a chapstick. The grape color is my lips but better. I love the formula. Nothing more to say about this.

Blogging Schedule For Fall

Hi guys so lately I haven't been blogging as much because school has started. I am in my senior year and things are getting kind of crazy, with collage applications, standardized testing, and just plain ole homework. So now I have created a schedule for myself to keep me on track and blogging. You will see a new post every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. They could range from reviews, product comparisons, or just face of the days. I will limit myself to M/W/F posts only being able to have one face of the day. That way I don't just post my current makeup looks, and I have a better variety. Do expect that I will try to do face of the day on Tuesday but that isn't a promise.

Heres a preview of what I have in the works

  • Fall Lip looks/ my favorite fall lipsticks (drugstore only Wet n Wild, Revlon and Maybelline)
  • Dark Bold Lips nude simple eye with step by step photo tutorial
  • Brown, bronze, golden, and champagne fall eyes tutorial (drugstore only)
  • Small drugstore eye palette reviews (Covergirl, Maybelline)
  • Revlon Brow Fantasy Dual Sided Stick (pencil and gel) review and tutorial with step by step photos.
  • Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding review
  • Miss Jessie's Baby Butter Cream review
I have a lot of stuff lined up and I am trying to create really good content this month. So hopefuly most of these ideas will come to fruition.

Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque (review)

When I went to Rickies to pick up some Miss Jessie's products, and I also purchased this hair masque because my hair has been so dry lately. Like all Shea Moisturize products it is free of sulfates, parabens, phthalates, paraffin, gluten, propylene glycol, mineral oil, synthetic fragrance, PABA, synthetic color, DEA, animal ingredients.

Coastal Scents Hot Pots Neutral Palette

Coastal Scents Hot Pots

Coastal Scents Hot Pots are creamy, smooth and so pigmented. But, the best part is they are so affordable. I have purchase a few and I am looking to pick up a few more. So I planned out my perfect Neutral Palette. Almost twice the amount of Shadows in the Urban Decay Naked Palette for a few dollars less.

Mattes

  • Pale Nude
  • Chamois nude
  • Kokomo Cafe*
  • Olivewood
  • Deep Roast*
  • Incognito
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Burnished Brunette
  • Barista*
  • New Terrian*
  • Profound plum
  • Wild Rasin
Shimmers/satins
  • Amber Bronze*
  • Copper Glaze
  • Caramel Ice*
  • Vanilla Sky*
  • Dark Goldenrod
  • Chocolate berry
  • Karat gold
  • Mai tai
  • Light bronze*
  • kodiak
Coastal Scents make quality eye shadows at a really affordable price. If you have always wanted MAC palettes but didn't want to pay 200 dollars Coastal Scents is a great option. The color selection is outstanding, and the formulas are great. Each of the shadows have a magnetized pan, so no magnet sticker needed. Coastal Scents also sell affordable fill-able palettes. The palettes aren't the most durable, but are good for a beginner. I would suggest if you want a really nice quality palette purchasing one from Z palette. Coastal Scents is always having sales, I purchased by Hot Pots for 95 cents instead of 1.95. Just check a few times a week and especially around the holiday season. Shipping was really easy, my shadows came wrapped in bubble wrap, and were  incased in hard plastic. Overall I definitely want to expand my Hot Pot collection.

Kat Von D Ladybird Palette Review

I hauled The Ladybird Palette a few weeks ago and I finally photographed it. I have been testing the palette out, trying different color combinations, the blend-ability, staying power, pigmentation. The palette consists of 8 shadows, and are .05 oz. The shadows are the same size as a MAC shadow, and Urban Decay shadows. The shadows are all matte, and are made with Rose extract, jojoba oil, vitamin E, and softening oil. They are also supposed to be long wearing, non-creasing or fading. The palette also comes with a mini brown eyeliner in Immortal Love (.028 oz). The color range of these shadows are mostly neutrals with a few wild cards. I bought this palette to be a more diverse Naked Basics but still giving me natural eye looks.

My Z Palette

After purchasing my Coastal Scents Hot Pots, I needed a palette to put them in so I purchased a Z palette. Z palettes are eyeshadow palettes with a magnetized bottom, and come with metal stickers so you can easily store de-poted shadows (blush, powder etc.). They come in a range of styles, and sizes and are pretty inexpensive.

Revlon PhotoReady Kajal Intense Eye Liner + Brightener

Went to the drug store and these pencils were on display and they caught my eye because of the neutral skin color. I am not a fan of using white eyeliner in the water line, I think it is too harsh looking. I was intrigued by the beige highlight side, and the dark color on the other. I purchased two liners in Emerald Empire, and Purple Reign.

EOS

EOS

I have purchased many a EOS lip balms and well I'm not too empressed. I know that people love EOS balms but I think it is all packaging and no formula. The little eggs are so cute, and I love using them. But, the actual product isn't very impressive. It feels very thick and waxy on the lips, it just doesn't really moisturize them. The balm feels nice on the lips when first applied but when it wears off your lips aren't any different. If anything they feel a little dry and I feel the need to reapply. Thus the cycle of dry lips continues. It is so unfortunate that EOS has a lack luster formula because the scents, flavors, and packaging are so amazing. The brand keeps coming out with new scents and they keep getting more and more enticing. The formula however stays the same, waxy and suckish.  What do you think? Do you love EOS lip balms, does the formula work for you?

Hair routine 9/2/13

Hair Trio

Miss Jessie's Baby Buttercreme
Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding
Trader Joe's Jojoba Oil

1. When my hair has been towel dried but still damp and rub a palm full of jojoba oil from my roots to ends. The oil is very dry and you could easily put too much so be careful.
2. Taking a dollop of the Buttercreme smooth it over section by section each time using more product until my whole head is saturated with the creme.
3. Taking a small scoop of the curly pudding I apply the product to my hair starting with one side avoiding my roots. Then I take a little more product and do the same to the other.
4. While rubbing in the pudding I stretch my curls out to their full length
5. Lastly I take a tiny amount of the pudding and apply some to my roots for frizz control
6. I then air dry my hair for bouncy long frizz free curls

The whole routine takes about 5 minutes.  A good way to tell if you have applied enough product is to scrunch your hair and listen for a squishy sounds. The squish means that you hair is saturated with product, as it dries it will absorb into the hair shaft and become soft and frizz free.

August Beauty Favorites

August Favorites

August has come and gone, and September is here. I can't believe that summer is over, it went by so fast. School is just days away, and I'm still in summer mode. In New York it is still hot, and of coarse muggy. I have tried a lot of new products this month so my favorites list, is quite long.

NYX Blush: Dusty Rose

Mac Mineralize Skin Finish: Soft N Gentle

NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil: MIlk

Coastal Scents Hot Pot: Kokomo Cafe

Revlon Color Stay Foundation: Buff

EcoTools Blush Brush

Forever21 Love Roller Ball perfume

L'oreal MagicLumi Pen

Miss Jessie's Curly Pudding

Basically I have been using all of these products together. This is my current face routine.

I put a little bit of color stay foundation on, and then correct my under eye area with the Magiclumi pen. I dust on some NYX blush, and highlight my cheek bones with Soft N Gentle. I also put Soft N Gentle on my lids, and inner corners. I take a little of Kokomo cafe and blend it in my crease and fill my eyebrows. I use milk on my brow bone for a subtle high light.
