8 Fall and Winter Lip Colors (drugstore)

So I have collected a few (a lot) of berry, wine, and purple lipsticks that are great to wear during the fall and winter. I really like wearing a dark lipstick, minimal eyes, and thick defined brows during the colder seasons. I have swatched my collection on my arm and lips. Some of the lipsticks do look very similar when photographed but in person the difference is less subtle. Also all of the lipssticks are drugstore!

So I am kind of a derp and I didn't swatch them in any particular order. So they are just kind of all over the place. Also thumbs up for awkward lips close up photos. I apologize in advance for any mustache viewage.

Grape: Baby Lips

Baby Lips in Grape is just your basic tinted lip balm and it also smells like grape popsicles. It gives a subtle berry tint to your lips. The consistency is very glossy and the color can be built up to medium pigmentation.

Mauve-ulous: Maybelline

 Mauve-ulous is a medium berry color with pink undertones. Medium pigmentation and can easily be built up for opaqueness.  As a moisturizing texture very creamy and slightly has a glossy finish. The lips stick smells so good. Kind of a sweet pastry like smell. Not too strong that you can smell it when it is on your lips, just in the tube. It is part of the Color Sensational Collection

Black Cherry: Revlon

Black Cherry is a deep berry color with red undertones. It is part of the Revlon Super Lustrous Collection and is a creme finish. It is opaque in one to two layers and has a nice natural gloss to it. Very smooth and moisturizing. The product doesn't have any smell or taste. Just a classic berry red lip stick.

Va Va Violet: Revlon

Va Va Violet is a Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick with a creme finish. The color is a very dark pure purple in the tube but no so much on the lips. It is very sheer for a revlon product to be honest. Even when you apply multiple coats your not going to get total opaque purpleness. However it is a dark color so it does look more natural/wearable when sheer. You can get it to be totally opaque if you where a lip liner underneath.

Blissful Berry: Maybelline

Blissful Berry is a magenta toned berry. Like Mauve-ulous it has the same consistency and pigmintation. Very smooth, semi-matte, and moisturizing. It comes off as more of a bright berry pink. When only one layer is applied it looks like "your lips but better".

Black Orchid: Wet n Wild

Black Orchid is a true vampy red. It is super creamy and moisturizing. One swipe is really all you need to get full color payoff. Yes finally a really great dark red lipstick. It is Wet n Wild so it only cost .99 cents!

Dark Wine: Wet n Wild

Dark Wine is Deep wine color with pink (blue) undertones. It photographed a little light but in person it is darker. It is a very opaque like Black Orchid, smooth, creamy, and moisturizing.

Pink Truffle: Revlon Lip Butter

Pink Truffle is my most natural looking lipstick. It just intensifies the pigmentation of my natural lips. It is a Revlon Lip Butter so of course it is really moisturizing. Super glossy and just gives off a nice neutral pink. No mirror need for application so it is great to just throw in your makeup bag.

All of the lipsticks are super affordable (especially the Wet N Wild) and great quality. The colors are all kind of similar so if you only wanted to buy two or three you could layer them to achieve lighter or darker shades. Lipsticks are fantastic they just brighten your whole face and change up your whole look.
